Yeah! It is a Sunday! I could finally sleep with some peace for awhile longer as I do not have any activities in the morning. After a satisfied nap, I woke up, and realised that our family were supposed to go to the temple for some prayers for good luck and then to my grandparents house.
Although I find these tiring and meaningless, I just follow my parents obediently wherever they go.
After breakfast, we went to the SAME temple we went EVERY year. It was the same B000rrrinng ritual.. and we have to go through the same old b0000rrrrinnggg rites....with the stinky smell and the deafening noises. I could merely stand it and immediately ran from those "freaky monks who chants non stop" after the whole thing ended. When I asked my mum about the bill, she said it was about $140! OMG...$140 wasted just like that...unbelievable amount of money they earned during the new years...My mum then told me that when she was young, she used to do the similar ritual in her own house. but then, they started doing it themselves. I bet that I would not be like my mum who spends $140 a year on these type of stuff. I would rather save it and spend on items like PSP, Xbox360, Nitendo DS...=P (accumulated)
But that is not the point. The point is, I do not believe that any of these rituals would be able to change my luck/fortune/destiny.....All these are in your hands, and what you do with them, is up to you. Sorry to those who I have offended but, this is my belief. =)
As we were too early to go to my grandma's house, we decided to take a look at the Singapore Flyer as we wanted to see how big and magnificant that giant is. Upon arrival, we went to a guard, and asked him whether the ticketing counter was open. To our surprise, he nodded his head and showed us the way! We had a big shock as the place looked empty and the Flyer did not look like it was moving when we observed it from far. My father immediately bought the tickets for the Flyer as you know how crowded it is going to be when it officialy opens.
I was very excited because my family is one of the first to be able to experience the ride on the world's largest ferry wheel. On the way up, we were treated by friendly workers which kindly showed us the way to the wheel. When we were walking, I could imagine the length of the queue when it is on a normal weekend as the building was built such a way that the building is wide and windy so it could fit the crowd in it.
And...YES!!! My family is finally on the ride with nobody on board at all! My father told my sister and I that the Flyer was reserved this months only for corporate events, each capsule at $8888!!!!! Ahh!! So expensive!! Imagine 30-40 people squeezing into a capusle, and hardly able to breathe. =l Next, I saw the fantasic view of the whole of Singapore and the outskirts of Malaysia and Indonesia. I was take aback by the view as it was simply amazing! ( Srry that no pictures are up, but I will post it asap =I) I could see the integrated resort being currently built, and lots of houses at the other side of the view, looking like small little pebbles on the floor. We took some pictures on the handphone, which looked great. Can't wait to go to the Singapore Flyer again. =)
After a long weekend, the exam is just a week away, with very little revision left to do and more to come.....Off to sleep for school tomorrow!
